When it comes to translating texts the process involves more than just a verbatim transmission of a text into another language. A good translation pays attention on conveying the content of the source text in such a way that the text retains its function and impact in the foreign language. As different languages and cultures differ from one another to a greater or lesser extent, differences between the source and the target cultures may require an adaptation of the text. In the end, what makes for a good translation is when the translation is not perceived as a translation but simply as a good text that fits perfectly into the target language as well as into the target culture.
When translating, we keep the target audience, culture and function of the text in mind at every step of the way. We pay careful attention to the precise use of terminology while ensuring consistency throughout the text. In addition, we do always take the requirements and preferences of all our customers on specific terminology, for example company-internal terminology, into account. Finally, we maintain individual terminology databases in order to guarantee terminological consistency of iterate text types.
In addition to translating texts, we are also very well versed in the proofreading and editing of texts in the English and German languages. Moreover, for the purpose of quality management and in order to ensure the consistent use of terminology, we use the market-leading translation memory software SDL Trados Studio 2015.
Another vital part of the quality of our translation services is naturally the strictly confidential handling of all data you entrust us with and the absolute non-disclosure of documents. We are bound to confidentiality as defined in the Code of Professional Conduct of the Finnish Association of Translators and Interpreters (SKTL).
